Alas, I have a life that needs attending to.
I lost interested in manips a while before I left, and dA not long after. With exceptions of course, its often a bunch of whiny tweens/teens/adults with little else to do but bitch about their oh-so-awful lives and post MySpace pictures showing how hawt they are.
Yup. I'm kinda a douche bag.
Plus, the constant stealing was getting to me.
However, I'm still pursuing art. Though manipulating was fun, traditional art has always been a passion. Painting, drawing, mixed media, - you name it. I also love graphic design - text art, CD/Poster/ad designs, etc. I've been offered a small spot by a local gallery for some of my graphic design work this January. This past August, I showed a few paintings and ink sketches at another local gallery. A few art schools have sent me application information. How they found my address is beyond me. Dunno if I plan on going to an art school though. I want to get into international relations I think... or political science...
Totally not the point.
I've recently started working at a small tat/piercing shop not far from here. Desk work for the new girl. But I'm getting really into it - I love designing that shit. So cool. And the people there like my stuff so far. I'm getting one eventually and I want to design it myself. Something small, subtle, but meaningful to me, you know? Probably not some sort of detailed image - basic shapes or letters. I do believe my mother thinks I'm so sort of degenerate though - I had multiple pierced ears before but now I've got a few more - piercings in my ears, not actual ears, that is - as well as a nose stud and belly ring. Thinking about a lip or tongue one too...
And you'll never guess - knuckles got offered a modeling job.
Right?
I decided to give it a try, though - it paid well and it was kinda fun. But that was a one time thing. I'm not really into it. I'd rather be behind the camera. And not pointing it at a bunch of too-skinny blonds. Unless their four-legged and like carrots. And then I'd rather they weren't too skinny.
Still totally not the point.
Besides the art, I've started writing more. My English teacher last year recommended I look into a part-time job with writing. I sent some stuff to a local newspaper and they liked it. I'm working there next spring into the end of next summer working on a letter-to-the-editor-but-not-esque thing.
I've gotten into photography more as well. That shit has improved to the point of being practically fucking unrecognizable - in a good way - after I spent a good part of my summer and fall interning at a locally well-known photography company who do a lot of the shows I ride in. No money but great experience. They've offered me a job there next spring/summer/fall once their business picks up.
I've posted scraps from shoots/messing around(s?)or just some stuff I took in case I ever came back to dA, at my stock account ~bloodyknuckles-stock.
Which brings me to my next point: I'm not really gonna be active on this account anymore. I'm cleaning up my computer and may post a few old manips before I delete everything but for the most part I'm done here. I'll be on my stock account once in a while to upload things, check in, etc. but for the most part my cousin will be running it. Shes a cool chick. Just started high school. I'll be sending her images she can upload, or just doing it myself if I'm not lazy. If you want to contact me for whatever, try me there. At the worst, she'll drop me a line.
Just wanted to update ya'll so you weren't left hanging. I'll prolly delete this journal later.
